Every Time He Play (Open)

"I see he doesn't often take himself out of work to play for the club." Jay said with a smile, "I believe I heard him play once, he is quite great."

Carter shook his head, "Nah, doesn't really wanna play anymore. I mean, he loves to do it but we've got so much to do with the club that he thinks its all he can do. He's like a brother to me but he doesn't get that there's more to life than workin' hard."

Jay nodded, though he looked a little sheepish. Adam was always trying to get him to do more then work on cases, but it was always hard to pull himself away from his work when his mind was always going.

"Somethin' the matter?" Carter asked, curious. The man in front of him looked a little guilty of too much work and not enough play. Carter thought that, just maybe, he could change that. "You know...you should come by tonight when the place is really jumpin'. Make sure Garrett Balington isn't too rowdy of a crowd for you though. I know he can be a little much for some people but he loves to come here and dance."

"I'm not sure... I probably should work on some of my cases.... I mean I...." Jay wasn't sure of himself, he was normally so caught on his latest case that he hardly ever when out just for fun. He felt so nervous, knowing most people thought him strange.

"I get it," Carter chuckled, holding up a hand to stop Jay before he could decline. "You're not the kind of guy to come to a place like this unless he has to. It's a shame though, I really thought you and I could get to know each other better."

"Well... Maybe we could still get to know each other..." Jay said softly, "Maybe just a quieter place..."

"Quiet sounds nice," Carter grinned as he leaned against the bar. "Do you have somewhere in mind?"

"Well there is the park or Papa Bears is pretty quiet." Jay answered with a smile to Carter.

"The park," Carter beamed, "Not that I don't love goin' to Papa Bear's but the park is so much more relaxing."

"I find the park more relaxing as well especially on a sunny and warm day." Jay smiled back, looking more relaxed now.

Carter grinned, "Hey man, you know what's up! The park on a warm and nice day where I can just stretch and lay out on one of the benches. Groovy, totally groovy."

"I sometimes take my landlady Mrs. Hudson's dog Toby for a walk, she's getting up in age and I enjoy the sunshine." Jay said with a smile.

"I love going for a walk in the sunshine," Carter grinned.

Jay smiled and nodded, Carter's easy going nature made him feel relaxed.

Carter smiled as he poured Jay some more water before turning around and fixing himself a whiskey on the rocks. "So tell me a little more about yourself Jay. You're different. Normally we don't get too many high class folks like yourself around here."

"Thank you." Jay said as he took a drink of his refilled water, "I suppose there isn't too much to tell, I've always had an inquiring mind and I can never seem to rest if I have a mystery on my mind."

Carter smiled and nodded, "Mystery huh? Maybe you can solve the mystery of how come Mayor Chern is such a dick."

Jay couldn't help the laugh that came out when Carter called the Mayor a dick.
"Sadly I don't even think I could solve that one."

"Well, it's worth a shot," Carter chuckled as he sipped his beer. "Well, I hate to do this. But I gotta get ready to play tonight with the band."
