Yes he was having a rumbly in his tumbly sort of day.

Winnipeg Thepo, better known to coworkers at Yensidia Elementary and the few friends he did have in town as Winnie, had those days quite often. Usually he carried a sweet with him so that he didn't have to worry about the rumbly in his tumbly. Today he had forgotten to put one in his bag and instead was sitting at Papa Bear's waiting for something to eat.

A lot of people in town avoided him and it upset him. He wasn't a mean man, all of the children that he taught in his class liked him because he was very understanding of what they did and who they were. He just had spells of forgetfulness and hunger. People thought that he was stupid and he just wasn't.

He looked up as the door opened, someone entering. Winnie smiled and waved, "Hullo! How are you today?"

Hearing the greeting, Elijah lifted his head, often with his gaze fixed on the path ahead of himself to avoid making unwanted eye contact with people. He paused in the doorway, looking over at the person who'd spoken and hesitated before he properly entered Papa Bears.

Elijah knew who the man was, but he'd never actually stopped to speak to him for very long. A couple of the kids he spent time with at St Walt's though knew who 'Winnie' was and they seemed to really like him.

"Hello." He eventually responded, shifting uncomfortably as he stood there. "I'm fine. Same as I always am." He added, speaking slowly. He may normally appear cheerful to others, but he really wasn't. But, as he said, he really was the same as he'd always been.

Winnie had met the man a few times before. Koda, one of the younger boys in his class, had gotten sick last year and Winnie had visited him in the hospital. This man, Elijah Grey had been his doctor. To Winnie, this man seemed very down and depressed.

He decided as he sat there to talk to this man and try to cheer him up.

"Same? Is that a good same or a bad same? Well...considering it's the same, you feel that way either good or bad," mused Winnie.

"Why does it matter if it's good or bad?" Elijah asked him with a shrug of his shoulders. "Either way, it's still the same."

He glanced over at the people working, watching them for a moment before glancing at the door. He considered just going and sitting somewhere else, but he didn't want to gain a reputation for being rude. He considered leaving instead, but he was hungry. He wouldn't have bothered going in in the first place otherwise.
With a sigh, he realised that if the man offered, he may as well sit. Otherwise he was likely going to continue standing awkwardly by the door, rarely the kind of person who'd ask themselves if they were allowed to sit.
Either that or he could pretend to look around the place until the other man left...

Winnie frowned, the man didn't care if he felt good or if he felt bad. Somehow, in the back of his mind, he thought that he had once knew a man like that. That he had known a man who was so...was cynical the right word?

Winnie smiled and patted the stool next to him, "You can sit here with me if you want. We can talk and you can enjoy you're snack. Does that sound good to you new friend?"

"Oh, sure. I guess we could do that." Elijah replied with a small sigh before sitting on the offered stool. Normally he'd sit alone, but turning down the offer would be rude. Besides, sitting alone got pretty lonely. "Talk about what though?"

"Well what do you want to talk about?" Winnipeg grinned at the man who sat next to him. "We could talk about anything really. Movies, music, sports. You work at the hospital right?"
